Pikes Peak Parent

What are the best summer camps to send you kids to? What are the ones you'd never send your kids to ever again? Tell me a little about it! Why do you think it is so great/terrible? Thanks!!

The Pikes Peak Justice and Peach Commission has an awesome 1 week Peace Camp where kids get to learn about peace with themselves, their community and the world. They hired an awesome director for the camp this year and it should be very successful!

My wife and I have decided to enroll our two girls in the Colorado Springs Young Marines. They will be starting their bootcamp this coming weekend, which meets every other saturday for 6hrs. Then this summer they will be going on a camping trip with the group to see Mt Rushmoor and some museum's.
The cost ($55) was very reasonable for them to join the group and I think it will definately give them guidance, community awareness, drug/alcohol awareness, leadership training, and public speaking training. I was very impressed at what the do for the kids when I attended the orientation.

Just found this cool Summer Camp link at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Apparently, registration is already open! Check it out! Anyone already planning to attend one of these? Been there before? I'd like to hear what you thought of it if you've attended previously. Thanks.

We did the zoo camp last summer. They had some supervision issues the first day that freaked out my wife (a counselor didn't show up and a group of young kids were sort of accidentally abandoned). Overall I would say the camp was not great, but a good experience for Ella (then 4). There are some specialty camps at the zoo (like the pony tending) that we'll probably go back for.
