What I will do is that as I find out about events that may be of interest or assistance to military spouses that are happening on Fort Carson, I will post them here as well as our other normal places.
The 4th ID EO office and the sexual assault response coordinator are sponsoring a free, four-part self-defense class for women from 7:30-9:30 p.m. April 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Waller Gym. The class teaches awareness strategies, escape techniques, defense against an unarmed or armed attacker and other things. The class is open to the first 100 Soldiers, civilians and family members, 16 and older, to register at Waller Gym. Their phone number is 526-2742.

This class has been offered in the past and participants, even though they may never use it, said they feel safer and even made some new friends.

We all will do whatever we possibly can to be sensitive to your concerns and to keep issues discussed here private and by extension, everyone safe. Thanks again.

I appreciate your concern for national security issues related to deployments and perhaps we all need to be a little more mindful of that sensitivity.
Tanya does have a right to express herself, however. She may need to be careful about what she divulges, but if she does not reveal anything pertinent to national security, then I don't see a problem. You may see her candor, in part, as a public relations issue and that is another matter entirely.
We appreciate you bringing the national security aspects of this to our attention. I will do my part by suggesting that bloggers revise a post that gives too much information.
Have a great day. :)
Carmen Boles Comment by Carmen Boles on March 5, 2010 at 8:43am
Thanks again. I can say that learning more about Army life is of great interest to me. FreshInk is built on the same foundation as Parent but does reach a wider audience. I will personally ensure that the groups comments remain only on this site. We are willing to do anything we can to both support and protect all the parents in the region, not just military, as we also provide a robust amount of hyperlocal information tailored to parents.

Thanks Tanya. As the Director of Interactive Content and Audience Development, I can assure everyone that we CAREFULLY monitor all activity on this site and must manually approve anyone who wants to join. We have a zero-tolerance policy for our site guidelines (which can be seen in the main navigation). This is also true of csfreshink.com, which I also oversee.

I also wanted to state I was never concerned about safety before being on this site...if they are monitoring their members there shoudl be no concerns
